Both Sides, Now (BSN) is ArtsWok Collaborative’s flagship programme. It aims to develop spaces that encourage end-of-life conversations through arts practices and creative approaches. We do this by working with and equipping individuals, families, and communities to explore, express, and enact what living well and leaving well might mean to them.

To date, over 28,500 audience members and participants have experienced BSN, with more than 500 volunteers and facilitators over the past decade.

Formerly co-presented with Drama Box (2013–2022), BSN has evolved through various editions with different place-based and cultural communities. It was first commissioned by the Lien Foundation and the Ang Chin Moh Foundation, who continued their support till 2019.

Since 2023, we have taken full rein of the programme, deepening our community engagement and adopting community development approaches to working with communities. We have introduced new offerings including Piece of Mine, an 8-week workshop series for seniors to reflect on end-of-life decisions, and the arts-based experiential Navigating End-of-Life Conversations with Confidence workshop for care practitioners.

Visit the Both Sides, Now website to explore a decade of impactful projects. Hear from the communities we worked with and learn from their stories. Access our repository of resources to begin your own personal journey of living well and leaving well.

If you appreciate the work we do, contribute to spark conversations that matter.
