The ArtsWok Learning Forum is our investment in developing the capability of practitioners to engage communities creatively and effectively, and expanding the arts-based community development (ACD) ecosystem. For our first and largest convening of ACD practitioners in Singapore, we gather individuals from multiple disciplines and sectors who are open to, or already working through the arts in their community-engaged work, to dialogue on key issues of the day.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, this new flagship triennial programme builds on our decade-long work in nurturing our community of practice through our Greenhouse Sessions and Lab.
With a greater push for community development outcomes amid a lack of formal education pathways, we see a pressing need to provide learning opportunities for community-engaged artists and creatives. We also recognise the growing interest from practitioners of related fields such as community, health, and social work, to incorporate arts and creative approaches into their work with communities.
By broadening access to ACD knowledge and practices, the ArtsWok Learning Forum is a timely response to these needs and interests.
