Supported by

This is a 27-hour introductory Lab by ArtsWok Collaborative that equips you with the essential skills to develop and facilitate arts-based, person-centred activities in community settings, especially with seniors at Active Ageing Centres and similar spaces.

Who is This For

Individuals with interest in community engagement who are seeking structured guidance in arts-based, person-centred facilitation with active seniors and other community groups.

If you are looking for a programme that integrates theoretical grounding with practical application, please sign up for our Arts & Community Facilitator Programme instead.

Learning Objectives

By completing this programme, you will learn how to:

  • Recognise the role of arts-based facilitators and the range of work that they undertake within the Arts & Community landscape
  • Adopt ethical, person-centred, and critically reflective approaches to facilitation practice in community settings
  • Develop and deliver appropriate arts-based activities that support the well-being of seniors at Active Ageing Centres or comparable community settings, with adaptable approaches for other participant groups
  • Apply frameworks for activity design and adaptation
  • Develop and evaluate your own facilitation plan

The Lab has helped me learn that effective facilitation is not only about delivering an activity well, but also by carefully considering the project, the people, and the context. The sessions have offered me a fresh perspective and encouraged me to look beyond my usual practice.
