ArtsWok Greenhouse Sessions #24: Articulating Value(s) in Community-Engaged Work
What do we value, across sectors, as community-engaged practitioners? What is the value we bring to the communities we work with? And how do we communicate our values to stakeholders that support and fund our work?
Join us for the ArtsWok Greenhouse Sessions #24 as we dialogue and reflect on the value of the work we do and the values which inform our work in arts-based community development or community-engaged work. Drawing from our review of the last decade of The Greenhouse Sessions and the recent ArtsWok Learning Forum, we recognise the need to identify and communicate the value(s) of community-engaged arts. By understanding the tangible value of the work we do and why we choose to do this work, we can build effective vocabularies to deepen understanding and recognition of the field.
Through group dialogue and sharings, we will reflect on individual and potential shared values that motivate our work. We will also explore how to identify and capture the value and impact of community-engaged practice through arts and culture. Finally, we will discuss new vocabularies to articulate the value of our work to different stakeholders, as well as across sectors.
